January 2013

Happy New Year!!

As we welcome 2013, it seems fitting to reflect on some of our efforts from the past year:

  • The UMass Dartmouth Alumni Association awarded over $35,000 in scholarships to current students.
  • In July we introduced a newly re-redesigned alumni website, with a crisper look and feel, more photos, alumni profiles and a calendar of events.
  • We increased our outreach efforts via FacebookTwitter and LinkedIn by 109%.  If you haven’t connected with us yet, we hope you will make this a new year’s resolution and do so in 2013.
  • This fall brought a new student group to campus with the launch of the Student Alumni Association.  This group will work with us to connect with students before they graduate.
  • We ended the year by honoring five distinguished alumni at our Alumni Awards ceremony.  I encourage you to read more about our honorees and their qualifications and invite you to nominate your fellow distinguished alumni for this honor in 2013.

As you can see, there was a lot going on in 2012 and we don’t expect to slow down this year.  We ask that you continue to provide us with suggestions on what we can do to enhance your alumni experience.  We need your input!

Proud to be UMD,

Lori Jacques
Assistant Vice Chancellor for Alumni Relations
